Hello friends, today I’m adding a new series to the Lilt Blog repertoire.“Lilt Loves” will be a once a month post of some of the things that I’m digging throughout the month. I think it will be a great opportunity to show you guys some things that have come past my desk & share what’s inspiring me as well as hopefully opening up some conversation on what else you would like to see on the blog. So here goes… a little late but, Lilt Loves for March…
#GIRLBOSS – I’ve become quite the bookworm of late, and am enjoying a bit of daily reading to broaden and relax my mind. #Girlboss was a great way to get me into the habit of reading again as I really couldn’t put the book down (cliché, but true). Sophia Amoruso is candid, funny and brutally honest, recounting her youth of hitchhiking and petty theft and turning her first sale (of a stolen book) into a multimillion dollar fashion business which today we know as Nasty Gal. Filled with gems on how to be a kick ass female in business, but also useful to those with the opposite genitalia. As soon as I finished it I passed it on straight to my husband, who’s also not been able to put it down, with many a chuckle along the way.
Bellabox – Last month I was lucky to receive my first ever Bellabox*, kindly gifted by the Bellabox team. I’ve been pretty excited about it and finally got to have a peek inside last week after Grange and I finished our move into the new apartment. The concept is great, a beauty subscription for $15 a month which sends you a mix of sample sized items for you to try before you buy. Very nicely presented in a cute polka dot blue box, the sample sizes are perfect for trying new products without having to invest in lotions and potions that may not work for you at all. The blue hair shadow was a bit of a horror flashback to hair mascara days (anyone remember that?), but the rest of the items are things I really can’t wait to try, especially the Benefit “PoreFessional” primer (which i’ve heard is very good), Neon & Co Hair Treatment oil (perfect for winter frizzes), and Mono Derma Skin Vitamins. Also I can vouch that the Gogo Goji Health Bombs were delicious as I’ve already devoured them all 😛
Urban Jungle by Charlie and Fenton – I fell in love with all things Charlie and Fenton after I interviewed designer Jannah Stevens for one of our Wardrobe Watch posts. And the Charlie and Fenton gals are at it again with a new range of fun and colourful tableware. My personal favourite, the “Feather and Cloth” tablecloth front he new Urban Jungle collection, (pictured above).
Flowerhead by Byredo – I’ve been wearing this scent for a little while now, since my wedding day actually. Usually I change my perfume with the seasons but I cannot retire from the incredible mix of wild jasmine and tuberose (I’m a sucker for white floral notes). Fresh and flowery but not overpowering.
Snapchat – I know I’m late to the game but I’ve really been getting into Snapchat over the past week. Although, I really think I am starting to show my “maturity” (cough, age) as I had to ask my much younger sister to show me how to use it. Come and snap with me (is that what were calling it?) my username is lucianawallis
Hope you guys have enjoyed this post. I’d love to know in the comments below, what kind of posts or subjects would you like to see more of on Lilt Blog?
x Luciana
