Blogger Profile – Jasmine Hunt @prettychuffed

I have been following Jasmine Hunt, @prettychuffed as she is known on Instagram, for a very long time.

In my early blogging days, we met at the Pro-blogger event in the Gold Coast and I’ve been a fan of her fun and approachable style ever since.

Jasmine describes herself as a bargain hunter & clothes lover, which is what led her to starting her blog and Instagram account @prettychuffed in 2011.

As a wife and mum of three, looking and feeling good in everyday life is important to Jasmine, and she shares outfit inspirations to her 29K+ followers every day. Showing us all that fashion can be functional, fun and affordable.

Not only is she a huge inspiration to thousands of Australian mums and fashion lovers, but Jasmine is also an absolute pleasure. Approachable, friendly and kind. Which certainly explains why so many local labels are knocking at her door to be featured on her account.

Read on below for my interview with Jasmine, as we discuss her process, dreams, and the people who inspire her.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to become a content creator / blogger

I started a blog in 2011 as a creative outlet – at the time I worked in the agriculture industry in marketing and public relations. Whilst I loved my job I always loved fashion and shopping so I started to share the finds I was coming across on Etsy, ASOS and other fashion sites. In 2014 I was at home on maternity leave with my first, so I revamped the blog, added social media and it was the perfect way to keep in touch with the world and document my new road into fashion as a new mum.

I love following you for your fashion and family content. Can you tell us a little bit about how you balance it all?

Thank you so much. I don’t think I have a good balance! Although I am trying. Luckily my youngest is now three and at junior kindy two days a week so that is when I fit in my content creation. I am still yet to find time to complete admin, and writing though!

What’s involved in a typical day of blogging for you?

On my content creation days, after dropping the kids at school and care I sometimes spend an hour or two in the shops, either doing market research or filming content in store. I have been working with a local shopping centre so I will go there to try things on. Then home to set up my space, steam items and film content. This can take between 2-4 hours depending on how many I have. I used to take a photo per day, I still do some days but mostly I will batch my photos once a month. Then off to pick up the kids, after school sport, cook dinner and bath/bedtime!

Tell us about some of the people in the industry who inspire you and why?

I Nikki – @stylingyou The original style blogger, business owner and fashion designer. I have always admired my friend Nikki for her business sense, adaptability, generosity, and innovation.

Lil Ahenkahn @flexmamiI love Flex Mami for the incredible community collated – her content is incomparable and industry leading.

On that same note, I think Millie @milligram96 is leading the industry at the moment in terms of paid content that people want to engage with.

Wisdom Kaye @wisdm inspires me to aim higher with my content – honestly Wisdom’s reels are works of art.

My pal Stace @stace_mcgregs inspires me for her incredible work ethic, sense of humour and style as well.

And Chloe and Kate at @jerichoroadclothing are two of the sweetest most humble humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They make amazing clothes and have naturally created a community that people want to be a part of.

What are 3 of your favourite resources that you turn to for inspiration?

Ooh! This is tough. For a shopping centre trip I of course like Mt Ommaney as all of the majors I like are there! For high end plus great cafes and restaurants – James Street. I also love shopping at the Love Me Again markets which are on once a month.

What’s next for you & Prettychuffed?

I’m going to keep on keeping on the next little while, I have a project in the works but I need more time to work on it – so once Noah is a little older and is a little more independent. Really though, I’m really enjoying my time at the moment and the space I am in.
