A Denim Shirt With A Difference

A denim shirt is easy enough to find, but a denim shirt with a difference is something else all together.

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of interviewing the Denimsmith team as part of my Designer Profile series, and I really couldn’t wait to continue my love affair with their ethically sourced denim by styling one of their beautiful and locally made pieces with you today.

This beauty is the Denimsmith Cosette shirt.  A voluminous silhouette with unique gathered sleeves, a mandarin collar and adjustable belt.  It is made with a slightly rigid denim which makes the shirt feel sturdy and like it will last me a lifetime. However the fit is relaxed and comfortable, so I can see myself wearing this shirt with everything from skirts to pants, and even maybe over dresses (unbuttoned as a jacket)…. Would I dare double denim?

Today I have paired it with a beautiful 100% wool pleat skirt by fellow ethical and Melbourne made label Lois Hazel, and my new favourite Radical Yes Penny Loafers in the most amazing midnight purple colour.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend ahead – x Luciana
