Lia

Yellow is a colour that sparks joy, something we’re all in much need of after these last couple of years, but it’s also a tricky colour or wear sometimes. It’s not the most worn colour worn out there in the world, but when it is, it instantly lifts the mood, brightens the complexion and brings a burst of sunshine into any situation.

With Pantone announcing colour of the year for 2021 to be a duo of shades, a trusty neutral (Ultimate Grey) and a vibrant yellow (Illuniating), yellow is certainly on tend. But if you find yourself feeling nervous to try this uplifting colour, don’t! A simple way to experiment is to bring it into your outfit as a single separate piece.

Today I am featuring the gorgeous ‘Lia’ skirt by Read & Bell. Made with 100% organic cotton and featuring a beautiful bohemian block print floral pattern design, this skirt is the perfect way to bring in a little bit of sunshine into your outfit.

The flat waist, and soft elastic back make it super comfortable to wear, and the full tiered shape make it a flattering fit with flowing gathered tiers that will sway gracefully as you move.

Bringing in yellow to my outfit in the form of a skirt means I have been able to wear a simple classic colour on top, in this case, a classic white tee. Meaning you can dip your toe into the golden splash of colour without going all out.

But who am I kidding? I love colour and I’ll be teaming up this skirt in so many ways all summer… with a plain yellow blouse for a monochrome look, or contrasted with block colouring for a bolder statement.

One thing’s for sure, yellow sure makes me smile. X
