Denimsmith x Vege Threads Signature Collection

Over the past few years I have really changed the way that I consume fashion. I’m always on the look out for local labels who are supporters of ethical practices and production. I have stopped consuming fast fashion as a whole and instead now invest my money in brands that offer timeless style in good quality materials.

I think I can confidently state that a great pair of jeans is a must have in any wardrobe so I was stoked to hear that Melbourne based denim brand, Denimsmith had teamed up with  Melbourne based organic everyday wear brand, Vege Threads to create a limited  signature collection,  made of eco-friendly denim fibres designed to suit all body shapes with comfort, ease and style.

As part of the collection, Denimsmith and Vege Threads have released three timeless shapes – the Boiler Jumpsuit, Gaucho Pant and Mabel Jean. And not only is the fabric super soft, flexible and comfortable it is also pretty damn special.

The specifically designed denim is made with eco-friendly materials, a combination of organic cotton and post-consumer recycled polyester from plastic bottles. How amazing is that?!

“Using organic fibres ensures that we are sourcing a cotton that is causing less impact to farmland and top soil, while also ensuring farmers wellbeing and premium. While the recycled nylon is an innovative new fabric created from discarded plastics, helping to lower plastic waste in landfill”, says Vege Threads Founder, Amy Roberts.

It is also worth mentioning that Denimsmith’s denim mill is the only one in the world that has been awarded with Ecolabel, an award that celebrates their fulfillment of requirements for sustainable fibres, chemical use, and focus on social and environmental impacts.

This collaboration celebrates two progressive Melbourne labels showcasing their their commitment to transparency and an ethical supply chain. You can check out the Denimsmith x Vege Threads Signature Collection online and in store.
