Lilt Loves – March & April

It’s been a slow start to the year for Lilt Blog, but I’m back this week with a little recap of all of the things I’ve been loving these past couple of months.

As always I’d love to know what you guys have been loving too, so please do let me know in the comments below. X

Marimekko Exhibition

Head to the Bendigo Art Gallery before June 11th and view the Marimekko exhibition. A great collection of colourful, bold and graphic style patterns, fabrics, homewares and outfits by the infamous Finnish textile and fashion company that became a household name in the 60’s and 70’s.

Very much worth the trip to Bendigo, and if you’d like some extra info on what to do, see and eat whilst you’re there check out my post ”A Weekend Away in Bendigo

Herbs & Heart

I was recently sent a jar of Face Mud thanks to the lovely people at Herbs & Heart and Black Sixteen to try out. As the weather changes this time of the year, I love to try new products that will revitalise and refresh my skin. In the autumn and winter months I tend to ‘up’ my exfoliating schedule and this product is perfect for getting rid of dry skin, tightening pores and locking in moisture. It’s made with Manuka honey, orange peel and sandalwood and has wonderfully earthy scent and texture that gently exfoliates and removes dirt. Their tagline is ‘a cleanser that feels nothing like a cleanser’, and it pretty much is that… I would describe it as a cleanser/express mask. Simply wet your face, scoop a dollop of Face Mud and rub between wet palms. The sticky paste will soften and you can then massage it gently and evenly over your face. Leave it on for 3 minutes, wash off, pat dry and voila! You’ll have clean, fresh and revitalised skin in a flash.

TK Maxx Northland

Last month I visited Northland for the opening of the new TK Maxx store. I’m so excited that TK Maxx has opened in Australia, and so close from my house too. It’s the perfect place to find one-off pieces for anything fashion, accessories, homewares and more. I picked up a designer bag for an amazing price which has been getting plenty of wear (check it out over on Instagram). And the great thing is that they restock their floor each night so you’re bound to find something exciting with every visit.

Aacute’s Remain Collection

One of my favourite local jewellery brands, Aacute, recently released their new collection ‘Remain’ and I’m totally head over heels with every single piece on offer. What draws me to their designs is their love of shape, pattern and colour as well as the hand-made element to their pieces that are produced right here in Melbourne. Watch this space for a Designer Profile interview with designer Julie coming soon, but in the interim check out the new collection here.
