The Basic T-Shirt

And so the journey begins…

Today is day #1 of the #liltblogbacktobasics series and we’re going to talk about the classic, simple, and trusty t-shirt.

This unassuming wardrobe basic, can easily be mistaken as merely something to wear with trackies whilst watching movie marathons on a Sunday afternoon, but really it is so much more than this.

Worn with rolled up boyfriend jeans and comfy espadrilles or loafers, the basic t-shirt completes the perfect weekend or “running errands” outfit.

Need a quick “smart casual” transformation? Throw on a blazer and swap the loafers for heels…. Ta Da!

You can even turn it up a notch and match a grey marle tee with your favourite black pencil skirt and pumps, for a polished, chic look. And for a bit of bling you could pop on a statement necklace to finish the outfit…..See!!! So much more than daggy loungewear!

This time I chose to keep it a tad casual, and wore my new Breton stripe tee with slouchy black pants. However, to keep it away from “sitting on the sofa” territory I’ve teamed my staple pieces with some comfy stacked heels and fun pearl costume jewellery to dress it up a little.
