On Saturday I took the time to go and visit the new RMIT Design Hub building to have a look at the Walter Van Beirendonck fashion exhibition.
The Belgian Designer and head of of Fashion at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts is well known for pushing the boundaries, and the exhibition was a stimulating explosion of his work & inspirations.
An interesting look into the designer’s controversial ideas of life, gender and sexuality. There are some pretty crazy designs and many phallic references, so I can understand how his style may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is defenitely worth a visit to see the incredible burst of creativity that is Walter Van Beirendonck. Hurry though!!! Exhibition closes this Saturday 5th of October.
