Pamela Love for Nine West

When I read about the Pamela Love and Nine West collaboration the other day I think i squealed a little.

I absolutely adore (love) Pamela Love’s jewellery, and I’m always a fan of a chunky boot…so these boots just make perfect sense to me.  Then I realised that you could only get them in the U.S and my squealing subsided…. but then I remembered that the boyfriend is IN NEW YORK at the moment!!!!!, and so i put in my shopping request. I got a video call this morning letting me know they soon will be on their way to Melbourne and onto my feet. I can’t wait!!! Thanks Grange you’re the best 🙂

If you’re in the U.S you can find them at Nine West

What I'd rather be wearing today

If I had it my way (and a wallet full of cash) this is what i would be wearing today. I am currently OBSESSED with the Alexander Wang Emile Leopard bag, and i have been pining for the Acne Cypress boots for a while now.  The whole outfit has really been based on those two items.

J.Crew long sleeve denim shirt / theyskens’ theory chunky knit sweater / Helmut Lang skinny leather pants, $960 / Acne black booties / Alexander Wang bag / Maison Martin Margiela brass jewelry / Chunky jewelry / Karen Walker round sunglasses / NARS Cosmetics hot pink lipstick / Michael Kors

Dries Van Noten

Every Year there is one collection which I look forward to the most. This collection is ALWAYS Dries Van Noten. Dries is by far one of my favourite designers, and his collections always excite and inspire me.  Therefore I thought it fitting that my first (non introductory) post be about his Spring 2013 collection.

This year was no exception and like always Dries has created a wonderfully cohesive collection. I know we always hear collections been described as “mixing masculine and feminine”, blah blah blah, but it is precisely this that Dries Van Noten does so goddamn well. The collection is just that… a gorgeous combination of Masculine shapes and patterns (see man style work shirts in tartan) intermixed with feminine fabrics like organza , and truly very beautiful screen printed florals (amazing floral pants, which i need in my life).
And although i am not usually a huge fan of the grunge movement in fashion, i have to make an exception for this collection. It is so beautifully executed, still polished, feminine and relaxed. I could definitely see myself slipping into more than a few of these looks. There are many reasons why I love Dries Van Noten and one of the main reasons, is his ability to combine, pattern, textures and silhouettes so seamlessly.

Without a doubt (and not surprisingly) one of my favourite collections this year.

Hello! Welcome to LiLT!

Hello!!!

I am very excited to be writing my first ever post for LiLT 🙂

I’ve wanted to start a blog for sometime, as i find a lot of inspiration in fashion, design and food blogs on a day to day basis.

I have an incredibly strong interest in fashion, textiles and design and so I am hoping to use this blog as a tool to further my skills, share my ideas, opinions, and inspirations.

Here goes….
