It’s no big secret that I am a big fan of dresses. I pretty much wear dresses every single day. I find them flattering, comfortable and so easy to just slip on and get on with my day. However, as the cold weather hits, styling dresses with other warmer items is a must!
Not only do I want to be comfortable and warm, I also want to get the most out of my wardrobe, and that means wearing my garments tran-seasonally.
Take this stunning Little Tienda dress for example. Traditionally this would be considered a lovely spring/summer day dress. It’s made out of a gorgeous cotton printed fabric which means it’s perfectlay light for the warmer months. But the thing is, I want to get year long wear out of such a beautiful garment.
Layering is such a good way to get more versatility and longevity out of your pieces. Not only is it practical but it also doesn’t have to compromise style.
For today’s style post I wanted to really rug up, but also show that a bright and summery dress can also be styled for a frosty day. The trick is to keep the under layer tones consistent. Today I opted for black, because it is the most common tone that you’ll find in most peoples wardrobes.
A simple black turtle neck and black tights teamed up with a pair of boots and finished off with a big roomy coat means I’m ready to brave the cold in style.
Equally I cannot wait to sport this dress in the spring, worn loose and relaxed when my baby bump gets bigger 😉 – watch this space.
