Peacock Bloom

Just the other day someone described me as ‘girly’ and it kind of took me by surprise. I’ve never really considered myself ‘girly’. I grew up kicking soccer balls, and digging up rocks in my back yard so I never really identified myself with such an adjective. However when I think about it, I really love make up, skincare, fashion and especially dresses! So I suppose that in a way, yes, I am kind of ‘girly’.

I think that is what I really love about fashion and style in general. For me it is a way to experiment with all the different facets of my personality.

How do i feel on any particular day? Do I feel empowered?, classic?, masculine?, experimental? or girly? The fun thing about fashion is that you don’t really have to choose just one. Yes, true that for some a strong sense of style becomes their ‘brand’, but I love playing with all the different looks depending on my mood, my age, or the time of year.

On this particular day I suppose I did feel rather ‘girly’, opting for this beautiful and delicate Zia Lozen silk wrap dress.

A beautiful kimono inspired style with a soft v-neckline, relaxed feminine silhouette and flattering bias cut skirt which drapes elegantly over the body. The dress is made in Australia, with the most divine and luxurious mulberry silk and printed in Zia Lozen’s exclusive Peacock Bloom print.

The colours used in the print are so beautiful and versatile, allowing for this piece to be styled with a variety of different accessories and styles, which ofcourse is always a bonus!

Without a doubt this dress is beautifully feminine, but equally easy to slip on & super flattering, which in turn is very empowering. I particularly love the silhouette which would suit so many different body shapes, and even my current fast growing bump. I also can’t wait to style it again soon, worn open in a ‘robe’ like style.

Zia Lozen is a newly launched luxury women’s ready-to-wear label, so if you’re on the hunt for a a beautiful new piece of clothing please take a look at her website and instagram. Her pieces are truly special.
