Hooray for the first day of September! Which means it is finally spring … and my birthday month 😉
But not only am I happy about the promise of warmer weather and birthday lunches, today I am excited because this year I have chosen to take part in Liptmeber, a campaign dedicated to educating the community on women’s mental health, whilst raising funds towards specific women’s mental health research and support programs.
I am lucky to be surrounded by strong , intelligent and independent women who inspire me each and every day. Some who are at times silently struggling with mental health issues, and I would love to do my small bit to break down the stigma on women’s mental health.
As a woman in my early 30’s, I am only too aware that today’s society not only allows us freedom and opportunity but at times added pressures to our everyday lives, whether we are stay at home mothers, business women, wives or partners, daughters, sisters or grandmothers.
Liptember is all about improving the health and lives of Australian women who take on a myriad of responsibilities, and helping raise awareness so we can all help each other live happy and healthy lives.
Wether it be anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or postnatal depression (to name just a few) we all have our own personal struggles. Let’s support each other to be kinder, stronger and the best women we can be, together!
So on this month, now donned ‘Liptember’ I will be wearing a different shade of lipstick everyday to gain funds to support programs such as Centre of Women’s Mental Health, Lifeline, Batyr, RUOK?, The Jean Hailes Foundation and The Pretty Foundation.
My aim is to raise $500 for the cause, and I would absolutely love and appreciate your help and support to reach my goal by the end of the September.
Every cent counts so even if you would like to donate $1, I would be so grateful.
To donate head to my Liptember Profile. I’ll also be posting my feature lippy everyday over on my Insta stories so please make sure you follow me over in Instagram at @luci_lilt_blog to follow my Liptmeber journey.
xoxo Luciana
