Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to start Love Rush
I’m pretty simple, I love cats, clothes and the ocean…I’ve studied Fine Arts, Fashion Design and now work in PR, and my biggest loves are my family, and one hell of a cute nephew. My head was, and still is constantly full of ideas, I needed a place that I could make sense of them and have all of them in one place to easily reference, my numerous sketch books just weren’t enough so I created Love Rush, it was also a great distraction from heart-break at the time.
What are your top 5 wardrobe essentials?
1. Grey t-shirt / 2. A great pair of skinny jeans black or blue / 3. Classic black blazer / 4. Leather skirt / 5. Black ankle boots
How would you describe your personal style?
Minimalistic, I prefer to stick to classic pieces, mixing them up with current trends to give them a new twist. I tend to stick to the basics, Black, White, Grey and Denim, I’m more about texture or print than anything too bright.
Who are some of the people that inspire you and why ?
I’m constantly inspired by the amazingly talented friends I have. Creatively, Graphic Designer Jasmine Dowling…the girl has the best handwriting going around, and Melbourne Street Style Photographer, Street Smith..she has more energy and positive vibes than anyone I know.
In terms of style, the swedes always get it right, Elin Kling, Columbine Smille and Victoria Tornegren. I’m also a fan of Camille Charriere and most recently have become obsessed with French blogger Maja Wyh. Home grown talent, Harper & Harley and Oracle fox have always been favourites.
What is the best place to shop in Melbourne?
Green with Envy, for anything from Bassike to Proenza.
What are 3 of your favourite online resources which you go to for inspiration?
1. Style.com for Runway collections, and Fashion week street style. 2. Tumblr for inspiration images and photographers portfolios. 3. And most recently the addition of Elle.com.au for everything fashion related.
What is the best thing about blogging?
The creative process. I love seeing the end results of a day of shooting. And the new people I’ve met along the way.
