This shoot has been a long time coming.
Karishma Kasabia, designer and founder of Khòlò the Label, Lei Lei Clavey, Melbourne photographer and myself, met up last week on a very cold Tuesday morning (6 degrees to be precise) to showcase and shoot Khòlò‘s stunning new Goddess in Lilies dresses.
I am really enjoying layering up this autumn, celebrating my new mama style by wearing more separates and styling things a little bit differently to my usual go to.
I’ve also become quite enamoured with Tirelli’s range of knitwear for the cooler months. I was lucky to receive a few pieces from them to feature here on Lilt Blog and one of my favourites is their Boxy Seam Detail Knit.
Today I am featuring another Tirelli knit as part of my current Autumn wardrobe. The ‘Cross Front Turtleneck’ is a comfortable contemporary style with functional features.
When I first started reading blogs back in 2010 the blogosphere was a very different space. The market was not so saturated here in Australia, Instagram was a very new concept for everyday folk and ‘influencers’ weren’t really a thing. There was however, a handful of fashion bloggers who I followed for style inspiration and who inspired me to start blogging myself. Phoebe Montague of Lady Melbourne was one of these people.
Linen doesn’t only have to be a summer staple. Today I styled Robb and Lulu’s Toulon Cotton/Linen dress for the autumn months, with a wool cardi and winter boots.
After teaching for 10 years Sally Mackinnon felt an ‘urge’ to do something different with her work life. Teaching had started to wain, and not wanting to give anything less than 100% percent to her job she decided to make a change and become a stylist.
I love autumn and winter dressing. Although I’m a summer gal at heart, fashion definitely gets me through this time of year. I just adore the earthy colours and fabrications that come out during the cooler months.
As a new mama I have never worn more separates in my life. I’m a former dress wearer at heart, but my new need for functional clothing means I’ve had to rethink my style and there is no doubt that separates are practical for everyday wear.

I’m a big fan of floaty dresses that can be worn to long lunches and special events alike. If they are timeless in colour, cut and pattern then it’s a total winner.
Today’s gorgeous Eva Tiered Cotton Dress by Read & Bell has three tiers in the body and full balloon sleeves which add volume and fun. It’s such a stylish and comfortable shape that would also work really well layered over or under knits for trans-seasonal dressing.
