A new style journey begins… -

Since becoming a mum my style has really shifted. Things I used to wear on the daily (like flowing dresses), just don’t fit into my lifestyle anymore. Sure I still love a beautiful frock, but they’re now reserved for occasions. Half my wardrobe is also now not practical for everyday wear as a mum of little ones.

I need items I can breastfeed easily in, crawl around an play in, and easily chuck into the washing machine after they get sticky fingers, drool or god forbid vomit on them.

At the moment, I find myself reaching for comfort and practicality, but my style game has gone awry and if I’m honest I’m constantly feeling frumpy.

I’m told this is pretty normal for some new mums. With priority changes and different needs, a style that was so intrinsically me just doesn’t serve me anymore and so I am officially on a journey to find my new personal style, starting with today….

I know I love quality fabrics, pattern and colour. As mentioned I also require comfort and practicality. And personally I am desiring items that are either a bit more ‘chic’, ‘fun’ or ‘sexy’, so I can get out of my frumpy era.

So I’m setting myself a new rule that whatever I purchase from now on has to have a combination of the above….

Today’s outfit featuring one part of The Lullaby Club’s Black Gingham Lounge Set, definitely plays by my new rules. The oversized shirt, is certainly comfy and designed with practicality in mind, featuring a button down front (great for breastfeeding) as well as roomy pockets to hold everyday mum necessities. It’s also crafted with a soft and breathable cotton fabric and features one of Lullaby Club’s core prints… and you all know I love a bit of gingham! The roomy silhouette and batwing sleeves really give the piece a chic aesthetic, making it equally suitable to wear from bed to beach, to cafe…. The perfect lounge wear piece in my opinion.

A tick on all accounts …. And now I need one in every colour 🙃
