Curious Cat

Yesterday I had the pleasure of featuring Melbourne artist and designer Tara Whalley on the blog, and today I continue my love for her original and eclectic designs with a style post featuring her Curious Cat Dress.

The story behind this print is especially cute, as it is inspired by ‘Minty’, an neighbourhood cat who likes to hide in the grass. It was originally painted by Tara herself with gauche and then turned into an original textile repeat so it can be enjoyed as wearable art.

The viscose fabrication is super comfortable and lightweight, and the loose fit and mid sleeves means it can be worn so many different ways for both the warmer and cooler months. Bonus points… Tara’s designs are also Made in Melbourne with lots of love and available for pre-order.

If you haven’t already please check out my interview with Tara as part of my Designer Profile series HERE.
