Lilt Loves – January 2017

Happy to be posting the  first Lilt Loves post for 2017!

I hope you are all having a fabulous start to the year. I’ve really been enjoying January, getting out and about, visiting exhibitions, and trying lots of new products and services for the blog which I am always excited to share with you all.

Today I share with you some of my favourites for January. Hope you like them!

David Hockney ‘Current’ exhibition at NGV –  What an inspiring exhibition! I visited NGV to view this exhibition with my sister and both of us left with an overwhelming urge to draw, paint, and create art.

The exhibition features over 1200 works from the past decade of David Hockney’s career and includes paintings, digital drawings, and video works. There are hundreds of interesting iPad drawings, colourful landscapes, video installations and a long gallery of beautiful acrylic portraits. An absolute must see! You can read more and purchase tickets on the NGV website.

Carbon Coco – When Grange handed me a Carbon Coco kit he purchased online last month I was highly skeptical. We’d both  been talking about potentially getting our teeth whitened, and after watching a few of their review videos he purchased a kit so we could give it a go.  I feel I should point out that the 2 person pack is not super cheap but at the time Grange purchased it, Carbon Coco was having a 50% off sale so it made it a bit more economical to just ‘give it a try’.

I’ve been using the kit for the past two weeks  (after our dental hygienist gave us the a-ok).  Stupidly I didn’t take any ‘before and after’ photos of my teeth, but have definitely seen a change in the short time I have been using the product. I feel I should also point out that I didn’t change any of my other habits during the past 2 weeks, I still drank coffee daily and red wine a few nights and I still saw a substantial whitening effect from using the Carbon Coco items. I’ll definitely continue using the products.

The only thing I would not buy again is the coconut oil sachets as they are super expensive if you consider that you could just as easily buy a jar of coconut oil from the health food shop for a quarter of the price which would last much, much longer and can be used in the exact same way.

Svikis jewellery -I was sent these gorgeous Svikis rings earlier this month and I am absolutely in love with them.

Such a great industrial look and feel, with clean lines and a minimalist approach. They are designed in Sydney and 3D printed in metal. How cool is that?

Svikis has set out to launch their brand as part of the Make/100 initiative by Kickstarter. You can learn more or snap yourself one of these beautiful rings over on their page.

Kevyn Aucoin Mascara –  I posted a pic of this mascara over on Instagram earlier this month and I got so many messages about it.

Anyone who’s tried it quickly agreed that it’s the best mascara everrrrr, and a few people who had not yet tried it were convinced enough to go out and get themselves a tube. They were not disappointed.

With other mascaras I usually get a bad case of ‘panda eyes’ but the reason I absolutely love this Kevyn Aucoin’s product is that it creates a tube-like effect around each lash so it doesn’t smudge one tiny bit.

There are two versions, curling and volume, and when you are ready to take it off at the end of the day, you simply use water to make the mascara ‘slide’ off. Revolutionary! You can buy it at Mecca.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s ‘Lilt Loves’ post. Have you tried or seen any of the above? What have you been loving this month? I would love for you to let me know in the comments below.

  1. Love it! I recently went to the dentist for the first time in forever and feel motivated to keep this smile gleaming. It would be awesome if you could give readers a peek down the line on how that product is working. I’m also interested in this mascara..my lashes are fairly long but I’m finding that mascara is my go-to since I don’t favor putting on makeup…finding one that really benefits me is the struggle!
