Spring Racing Beauty Inspiration

So tomorrow is the start of Spring Racing Carnival. You’ve got your dress, your hat, and your spare pair of cheeky flats hiding in your clutch!

But what about your make up? What will you be applying to complete your Spring Racing look?

I’ve reached out to some of my favourite Australian beauty and lifestyle bloggers and asked them to put together a Spring Racing look to get your creativity flowing! (you should totally check their blogs out!!!)

Each of the gorgeous ladies has created a look and outlined the products used, as well as shared with us their TOP SPRING RACING CARNIVAL TIPS!

And so with no further a due,  I introduce Tine form Beautyholics Anonymous with the Derby Day edit, Cheryl from Business Chic for Melbourne Cup Edit, Andrea from Sublime Finds for Oaks Day, and Madeleine from The Daily Mark finishing off with Stakes Day.

I hope you all have a terrific time at the Races!

Tine Derby Day 01 Tine Derby Day

Tine from Beautyholics Anonymous for Derby Day

Face: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer, Guerlain Crazy Meteorites Radiance Powder
Eyes: NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base, LORAC Pro eyeshadow palette (Pewter and Champagne on the lids, Gold to line the lower lashline), Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture mascara
Brows: Benefit Gimme Brow
Cheeks: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush
Lips: YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #19 Fuchsia in Rage

Top Spring Racing Tip: Two words: Prime and Protect! Apply face and eyeshadow primer to keep the makeup lasting all day and protect your skin with lots of SPF. Don’t just SPF the face; remember to apply sunscreen on your neck, arms, legs and wherever your skin is exposed.

Cheryl Mellb Cup 02 Cheryl Melb Cup 01

Cheryl from Business Chic for Melbourne Cup

Face: Loreal Infallible liquid and powder foundation, & concealer
Eyes: Loreal Butterfly Lashes Mascara, Loreal So Couture Super Liner | false eyelashes in Natural by Shu Uemura
Cheeks: Laguna bronzer by NARS
Lips: Lipstick by Shanghai Suzy, liquid Limecrime and Jane Iredale City Lights range

Top Spring Racing Carnival Tips: Long wear foundation that doesn’t budge. I was recently gifted L’Oreal Infallible foundation which I wear over the Base Magique primer  and keep the oilies and shine at bay using the powder foundation.

Don’t forget to wear sunscreen under your foundation  !
A matte lip is great if the weather is windy as any loose hair won’t get stuck. That said glosses can be more moisturising.

Shu Uemura apply falsies for the cost of the lashes – from $25. The Benefit Brow Bar also offer a brow grooming service from $39 and eyelash application from $29.

Madeleine Stakes Day 01 Madeleine Stakes Day 02

Madeleine from The Daily Mark for Stakes Day

Face: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer,Eve Lom Radiance Lift Foundation, Revlon Photo Ready Skin Lights in Pink Light, Rimmel Wake Me Up! Concealer, The Blam’s Mary-Loumanizer, MAC Fix It.
Eyes: Too Faced – Satin Sheets, Too Faced – Voulez-Vous, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner, DUO Lash Glue, Mecca Cosmetica Plumping False Lashes, Eyeko Fat Brush Mascara
Brows: Anastasia DipBrow Pomade Soft Brown
Cheeks: NARS Matte Multiple in Siam
Lips: Burts Bees Lip Crayon in Niagara Overlook, Napoleon Lip Gloss

Top Spring Racing Carnival Tips: Prime that skin with a good sunscreen first, the last thing you want is to come home with sunburn. Let the sunscreen soak in and then apply a good moisturiser to hydrate the skin. This will keep it looking plump and gorgeous all day long.

Follow up with a makeup primer. This creates a shield between your skincare and makeup meaning the oil your skin naturally excretes will not break down your foundation and cause it to slip away. Focus on your t-zone, so forehead, nose and chin and blend out across the rest of your face.

For a colour that will last all day between sips of sparkling try a tinted lip balm. They disperse a gorgeous colour to the lips that stays put all day and also keeps your lips moisturised. Top with a bit of gloss to make the look a bit more glam and you’re ready to go!

If you’re a particularly oily skinned lass, tap a bit of powder across your t-zone to keep it all in place. Otherwise try a fixing spray to hold everything where it should be and hydrate that skin again just before heading out the door.
